Before a sculpture becomes a finished piece, it begins with clay. At BUILD CLASSIC, clay sculpting is one of the most important stages in our creative process. Many of our works are inspired by classic figures and timeless artistic imagery, and our goal is not simply to reproduce their appearance. We carefully study the posture, expression, proportions, clothing, and distinctive details of each figure, seeking to preserve the character and visual spirit that have made these images recognizable across generations. For us, recreating a classic image requires both respect for its original character and a deep understanding of sculptural form. Every expression, gesture, and proportion must work together naturally before the piece can move forward.

Every clay model for our products requires more than 30 hours of careful work. During this process, the sculptor repeatedly shapes, adjusts, refines, and reviews the model entirely by hand. From the expression of the face and the movement of the hands to the folds of clothing and the balance of the overall form, every detail is carefully considered. A small adjustment can change the entire feeling of a sculpture: the angle of a face, the position of a hand, or the depth of a single fold may seem subtle, but together these details determine whether the finished work feels natural, balanced, and full of character. This is why we never rush the clay sculpting stage. The time invested here creates the foundation for every stage that follows.

Behind this process are our clay sculptors, master craftsmen with decades of experience. Their understanding of anatomy, proportion, movement, and expression has been developed through years of working directly with clay. They know when a line should be softened, when a gesture needs greater strength, and when a subtle adjustment can bring more life to the entire sculpture. Even as modern tools become part of the design process, we continue to value the sensitivity and judgment of skilled hands. Technology can help develop an idea, but experience gives the sculpture its final character and warmth. For BUILD CLASSIC, clay sculpting is more than a production step—it is where an idea takes physical form, where classic imagery is carefully interpreted, and where decades of craftsmanship become visible in every detail.
